A page from the CERN era of the internet, circa 1994.
Digg.com forund this page recently, and mistook the page for the original page of the public internet. This is wrong.
This page is but one piece of the old internet that began in CERN's computer system - not the first. It's what was called the homepage of the World Wide Web for a time; but not the first site.
I came into possession of the page from shii.org, before that, I know not of its travels across the internet. Go ask Tim Berners-Lee if you want to know more about this page - I had never even used a computer in 1994. (Looking at the source now, I can see it's likely a mock-up of an old page, not the actual code of it.)
