Still getting it after clearing cookies/cache, using Firefox, even after rebooting.
Same SQL connection failure with another browser, Chrome.
BTW the captcha doesn't even show up, and there's a waiting spinning cursor while it's waiting for the captcha to (never) appear, which makes me think there's some config error over there, not here.
Same with Opera.

Thanks. The problem is that wakachan.org ended up in a strange state, which Dreamhost fixed by rebuilding the config files. Unfortunately, the /etc/hosts file now points at MySQL server IPs that are wrong, and it doesn't look like they publish the correct IPs anyway.

So now we wait for someone in Dreamhost support to respond.

Yes, the captchas have been disabled. Without the database, the captchas don't work. What's worse, the code takes a while to time out, so Apache processes were getting tied up waiting for FastCGI to respond...

Basically, the captchas are gone until the DB is back, because otherwise the site quickly becomes unresponsive.

Sorry, guys. I hope to have this resolved today. It should have been fixed yesterday. Worst case, we have to wait till Monday in the US.

Wonderful, isn't it? The VPS seemed to be in a reboot cycle. Nothing has changed in months, but there's been all these random problems. :/

My apologies if any posts got lost--I had to re-export the database from the old server when i realised the charsets were fucked due to MySQL being "helpful" and attempting to convert data to UTF-8, and fixing this when you've been awake for 20 hours isn't easy...

Is there any info if this site http://kei.iichan.net/hinata/wakaba.html will be fixed? Or at least replaced?

Any chance of the sidebar getting a clean-up? Some boards have been dead for over a year and aren't coming back.

It would be nice if someone could rescue/remake some of them, e.g. the Vocaloid and Mugen boards from rotbrc.
