When I try to access either of these boards, it says 404 not found! Have the La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo blocked this site as well?!
Just got a warning email from dreamhost about it, been hacked and the domain has been temporarily disabled.
I'm at work though, so can't do anything untill i get home :(
Right now I'm getting a SQL connection error and vericodes aren't showing up.
I also am not getting any vericodes.
It seems like the Koichan/Chiyochan boards are broken.
Still getting the same errors as >>3 on /azu/. Getting 'SQL error', and no vericodes showing.
I'm suffering withdrawal pains here! <grin>. Best of luck sorting it.

Just to put my mind at ease, are people actually aware of this problem and working on it?
day without /azu/ is like day without sunshine
i'm trembling in dark corner right now
Have just put in a support request to dreamhost, can't check whats wrong at the moment, as i can't even SSH or FTP to the server. :(
Just a heads up that the verification codes are MIA again... :(
>>15
Er, and now they're back. Making me look like an overreacting doofus. Nice.
/azu/ is 404 again, and the root page says:Site Temporarily Unavailable (...) error id: "bad_httpd_conf"
Ow bad news...
Seems dreamhost had some issues with some files they found on the server and just closed the entire account instantly with no warning
(i'm not even entirely sure it was me, as my pc got infested with a keylogger a few weeks ago and had things such as my wow account hacked)
unfortunately they're being very stubborn over the entire thing and will not give me any access to the website files or SQL databases at all. the only thing they'll do is allow me to migrate the domain names to a new host :/
So I haven't yet decided if i'll restart on a new host yet or not, give me a few days to look into it...
I... I can't breathe.
;_;
>>19
Ditto...
/azu/ is the bright spot in my day. I'd do anything to keep it around.
Nooooo ;-;
Dibs on /tm/ if Cyrilthefish throws in the towel. :/
That is such a great board. Good luck.
how do i sign up and make new threads
No Osaka
No Life
can this be a temp. thread?
or is there another place to serve an a temporary /azu/, like /c/?
Nooo don't let /azu/ die! Please do everything you can to bring it back ;_;
son of a bitch!! do u know if u will ever get it back up?
no!! NO!!!!
life is no longer worth living!!
Oh please no! I want my /azu/ and I want it sssoooooonnnnn! Look, my fingers have started shaking and my head's jerking!!
Argh...and I had some response comments from Morichan on the thread for his translated stuff, too.
Here's hoping you can straighten out this mess with a minimum of headache and high blood pressure, Cyril. Thanks in advance for all your effort.
Well, that sucks.
I hope you'll get everything sorted out eventually, good luck.
I've put up temporary azu board at http://www.shimauu.net until /azu/ gets back up.
Ta i was going to do the same on my home server, but a 256-384kb upload won't be good for much ^^
I'm looking into new hosts at the moment... not rushing into it as i'm seeing if i can find a proper dedicated server host for the money i was paying before ^^
Well, this one is free, with virtually unlimited storage and bandwidth, so there's no rush :) I co-founded the hosting company so as a bonus there's also no chance of it being took down over some complaint/dispute.
I don't suppose there's any chance of the last several pages being preserved in some fashion to transfer to the new (maybe) temp server?
>>37
The google cache has few incomplete threads few days old which i can parse and import (not much chance for images), but otherwise i guess not
>>38
would be handy if you could grab the last known post number so we don't have to restart from zero :)
I hear Dreamhost is experiencing Armageddon due to a poorly-planned server move
My gallery is also hosted on a shared Dreamhost account with five other sites and the man in charge of it hates me because the site that houses my gallery is the only site on his account that actually works as of late
>>38
One reason I ask is because, as I said, I got some comments from Morichan responding to the thread about the Osaka x Osaka translation. Trouble is, he doesn't quote the posts, he just refers to them by number, as if he were responding on the board. Kinda makes it tricky to employ full context, and I don't have the cache files available to copy-paste on my own.
>>39
Yeah, that'd be good...
This always happens, and then the administrator doesn't have any backups. Why? (but then, "got infested with a keylogger" too.)
Keeping systematic backups isn't easy unless you're a Unix nerd.
I've considered getting a dedicated server and offering daily backups to board admins, but since this is a hobby I can't justify the cost or time. :/
>>43
I was wondering about that, I was under the impression that keyloggers could only be installed with direct physical access to the machine, and weren't something you could get remotely infested with like a trojan.
Replacement /tm/ is up.
hi. i have message from person known as "windowledge". he said sorry to hear this news. and he also said he'll start to donate to your site as soon as he get out from hospital. and he said: "good luck, i'll see you soon at /azu/" thanks, bye.
>>46
Has Cyrilthefish given up?
If true, that is really sad. >:(
Cyrilthefish spent the money to run these boards for several years now, and the first moment he has a problem someone else tries to snap it up.
I'm not linking the new board on wakachan's sidebar simply on principle, perhaps indefinitely. We shouldn't reward antisocial behaviour.
In fact I'm annoyed enough by this that if Cyril doesn't find a new host but he wants to continue, he should contact me.
It's down now, if it makes you feel better.
You'd think people would've wanted somewhere to go in the meantime.
And also, how the fuck was that any different than the replacement /azu/? /tm/ was supposed to be TEMPORARY in the FIRST PLACE.
Shit sucks on the internet these days.
>>52
I missed the /azu/. But it's advertised as temporary, and as far as I can tell, only in one place.
Sorry if I came across harshly.
>>54
I've set up temp azu board because as a long time /azu/ regular i started to feel the effects of withdrawal :) It's advertised as temporary just because of cyrilthefish (the fact that it is his board), on technical and other grounds it can continue as regular if needed (if not, i'll redirect the shimauu domain to chiyo once it's up).
If cyril doesn't find any suitable hosting, and he'd still want to have the boards up, i can give him full access to shimauu (so i would provide only hosting then), there's no problems in putting there the other chiyochan boards. It simply didn't occure to me that the main problem will be getting suitable hosting in this day,for such relatively low-traffic boards as azu.
adding my voice for /tm/ back in some form
Sorry for the delay, been extremely busy at work this week which doesn't help...
Anyways, best deals for hosting involve paying for a year upfront, which means i need to wait until i get paid (20th)
So weekend at the absolute earliest depending on how quickly the domain names transfer.
Not sure what level of bandwidth i may be getting yet, may need others to pick up some of the other boards such as /a/, /w/ and requests yet, but i shall see how it goes.
Thanks for taking care of it, Cyril ... sorry, /bijin/ users, I was out of town on a serious matter and didn't have either convenient wifi access or the energy to check in.
>>58 I'd be happy to pick up any boards you can't support.
I'd extend the same offer, yet I'm using Dreamhost. Clarification from them as to what happened would really be useful.
i wanna know what the files were that got the original TOSsed without warning
at least this will scare away the guys at /a/ that were making viral marketing.
Quick note:
managed to stretch into getting a full dedicated server for close to what i was paying before and as such takes a few days for the hosting company to set it up...
expecting to be up and running next week some time
I shall make you lot usefull :D
I suspect it won't be active before monday, but let me know if the new server starts responding to pings / web requests before then:
server50734.uk2net.com
No /tm/ for so long, I think i'm going to cry! And just when someone was going to post the tsukihime manga c51 that we've been waiting for for months. Talk about bad timing.
Good luck on a new host and server!
No temp /tm/ yet? So sad.
Best wishes for getting things fixed up. It would seem there are some very technically knowledgeable people, and maybe others with some spare cash to help you out if you need it. Of course at the end of the day, this is just something you do in your spare time for free. Keep things in perspective and take it easy. I'm sure something as special as /azu/ won't be kept down for long.
>>64
You're awesome, Cyril. Thanks for all your effort.
And of course, much thanks to Azunonymous for setting up the temp board to keep us all from getting the /azu/ version of DTs.
Horay!
Bit late now and i'm off to bed... will try to get at least some boards up tomorrow though :3
Hope to get /tm/ back soon.
>>65
I get a picture of Yotsuba with the text "Under Construction."
Come back, /azu/! All is forgiven! ;_;
The man who owns my site is telling me that things are looking up
A restoration of the main board shouldn't be too far off
don't be a nigger, restart!
think i finally cracked it, here you go for testing:
http://server50734.uk2net.com/azu/wakaba.html
anyone have a final more accurate last known post number, let me know :S
OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG, now I only need /tm/ back and I'll be the happiest man on earth. =D
Can't wait for /tm/, it's the only source for tsuki manga and translations!
first anon window ledge guy in a coma, now this.
http://server50734.uk2net.com/fate/wakaba.html
Trying to get the sidebar links updated now, not sure if or when the original domain names will be back
where is /a/?????
Hey cyril, I'd be glad to look after a few of your boards. My timezone puts me at an advantage because I'm awake when most Americans are asleep and if you still need someone I'll gladly respond to your emails at ivory.keys@gmx.com.
Alternatively you can find me on synIRC in #4-ch.
The requested URL ~/azu/wakaba.html was not found on this server.
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.
>>84
I may take you up on that but not yet:
when my old hosting went down it took my personal email address with it and i don't want to give my work email addy to unknown people if i can help it...
so when i get a proper domain name assigned to the server, i may get back to you :)
>>87 iichan sidebar works, wakachan sidebar doesn't yet :/
I have very little time. It helps if all the updated links are put in one post with a glaringly-obvious "Here are the new links!"
>>87
Ok thanks a lot, good luck with getting everything back to how it was before and feel free to post on here if you need me until you get a personal email address.
Thanks.
cyril, how much traffic does /r/ eat? i've still got room to host another NSFW board, and i've run out of subject ideas myself. this is re: the frontpage news. i'll be on #iichan too.
Hard to tell as i was suddenly denied access to the server without warning, so no logs that aren't months out of date...
Installed awstats on the new server yesterday, not enough data to get anything sensible yet, but 7 boards generated 3.79GB traffic in one day, with averages to ~550mb/day per board if this is in anyway accurate...
i'll wait a few days and give you a more accurate count though :)
any word on getting the domain to something a bit easier to memorize?
>>95
whilst uk2.net provide great dedicated servers, their system for domain registrations is the most confusing thing i've ever come across, it's just dire :s
That and the fact i've been incredibly busy of late meant nothing much got done.
Now getting the domain names moved to a third party company and will redirect when they're active, status is: "Pending registry approval" at the mo
I'm getting a 404 error on /azu/, again.
not this shit again!, when will the torture stop?
Oh, it's back up. Nevermind then.
It's down....?
