Due to increased spam levels and a lack of moderation, /a/ and /requests/ have moved from Cyril's boards to two new locations:
/a/ is now http://sovietrussia.org/a/
/req/ is now http://iiichan.net/boards/req/wakaba.html
Questions, comments below.
I approve of these server switches.
Also: Clear out your cache to make the sidebar's links update.
/w/ - Wallpapers is now http://sovietrussia.org/w/ as well.
Hooray. The end of a miserable situation.
the jury's still out on /bijin/ and /azu/, but since /bijin/ does have moderation at the moment and /azu/ seems rather stable, we haven't moved on them.
i just hope we have an active mod on /a/ this time, though i do want to offer my time as a janitor for /a/
me too. in case the heavy spam returns...I wish to become janitor.
thank you for the change! I knew you wouldn't let us down, Iichan.
Not much change from before, the ad spammers are still doing their thing...
i haven't seen much spam or whatnot on azu, mself.
pooshmer is becoming unmoderated and the admin is AFK for the longest time.
If this goes on for 3 more days, I propose delisting it and replacing it with a new one, I am ready to host the replacement board.
I'm the moderator of Azu, please move it to a new server if you can!
I've tried to get through changes that would make it moderatable, but to no avail. I cannot moderate it as it stands. -M.
If we're going to vulture server50734, dibs on Type-Moon. That board looks very clean though; I don't recall ever seeing spam on it.
And if /azu/ is moved, I would love if whoever picked it up would attempt to transfer the old posts over.
If you consider moving bijin, please contact me first. (I sent my e-mail address in ... ) I'm the owner (and the moderator), not Cyril; he's just hosting it. I would rather host it myself than have it removed from my control. I'm attempting to contact Cyril via chat but haven't managed to yet. Thanks.
Lily just let me know whats happening.
Apologies for the abandonment, real-life + job has taken it's toll and i really don't have time to look after anything much at the moment.
Especial apologies to -M As he did ask me via email quite some time ago to change some stuff, but i got distracted by a real-life incident and completely forgot about it.
Anyways, i need to hand over the keys as it were, so people with more time can take over.
i should be able to zip up the directories + DB hopefully and pass them over, but not before the weekend at the earliest.
koichan1@googlemail.com if you're interested in taking over a board
i'd like it if the current mods can stay mods if at all possible (-M and lily + anyone i've forgotten)
I can possibly host bijin myself if I can get a walkthrough somewhere on moving/backing up (and enough time to register a domain name somewhere). If someone else wants to volunteer to host /bijin/, they need to be comfortable giving me FTP access to the server so that I can make changes to things like the rules under the submit box, etc.
I'd be happy to host Type-Moon and maybe Azumanga or any other boards nobody picks up.
Likewise, I'll host any leftover boards that nobody else can or wants to. I have plenty of space/bandwidth for it.
My e-mail is thelilyqueen (gmail) if anyone wants to host it and is willing to give me full access to it. It would really be better if a perl-savvy person is kind enough it; there's a code monkey in the house who could help me in a pinch if I wind up hosting it, but perl is not really his thing.
Bender and dmpk2k both offered to host /bijin/; sounds like Bender is going to do it and it should be back up in a day or two if we're lucky. Thanks!
Board should be up tomorrow night, if all goes well.
Thanks for the update, Lily Queen and Bender. I'm looking forward to Bijin's return.
Bijin is back! http://benderchan.net/bijin/wakaba.html is the link. If there are any issues with the board, and knowing my luck there will be, either post here, or e-mail me directly, BenderChan -at- gmail.com.
Got a captcha problem; working on it.
Captcha is working now.
Bijin link on iichan.net hasn't been updated yet.
Who runs iichan.net?
Email humble.fool -at- gmail.com about it. Probably the fastest, if not the only way to get the sidepanel updated.
Sorry, kept forgetting to get around to that.
/comics/ died because nobody posted on it.
/comics/ died?
Awww...
Since I don't know where to ask... can I ask here instead?
Where did nanoha.chupatz go? is it down or is it closed?
/nanoha/ died?
Maybe the admin will pop up later on to explain why, but yes, it's dead.
In an effort to cut down the number of boards, the Propaganda (http://wakachan.org/media) and Gothic (http://wakachan.org/go/) boards will be gone within the week.
I'll also be merging two other boards shortly.
Due to intense lack of interest, the Idolmaster board and /essay/ will also be removed.
Oh great... now two of my favorite thread are gone... nanoha and lucky star, what's next? haruhi?... T_T
Ok, I don't blame anyone here... but I wonder what makes a thread to be deleted? I mean, Lucky Star has people posting at least one every day...
Ultimately it comes down to whether the admin of the board wants to keep hosting a board. Since iichan consists of boards run by many different people, we have no control over that.
If someone wants to host a new Lucky Star/Nanoha/whatever board, they're free to host it and ask it to be added to the sidebar. I think there's a few too many boards already though, so there's no guarantee it'll be added.
Consider making a Lucky Star thread in /a/.
or /niche/
I would be willing to host if someone can come up with a succinct description how Nanoha, Lucky Star, (Haruhi), etc. are all related.
... Oh, I got one -- "Anime"!..... wait... that's already a board.
In all seriousness, I really don't see much reason for having boards for every series.
(Though, if someone does come up with a good name for a Lucky Star / Haruhi / Nanoha board, I'd put one up. Maybe also K-On... Azumanga... Railgun/Index...)
For Lucky Star and Haruhi (Possibly for some other series too) maybe we can put them all into one "KyoAni" (Kyoto Animation)?
Since we have Gainax...
For Nanoha, maybe we can put a new one called Mahou Shoujo, Witch, magical, or something like that?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! :'(
I miss /propaganda.
>>43
Yeah, I liked it too. :(
I'm pretty sure I still have an archive floating around if you want the images or the board itself.
