Emo to be made illegal in Russia?

New laws planned to stop 'dangerous teen trends'

* Jul 23, 2008

A new Russian law could make being an emo kid illegal in the eastern European country.

Legislation is currenting being formulated in Russia to heavily regulate emo websites and ban emo and goth dress style in schools and government buildings.

The new laws are apparently being driven by fears that these "dangerous teen trends" encourage depression and suicide.

Strange to note that the country which topped the most recent 'quality of life' survey (Ireland) is still in the top 50 of the suicide list.

Either Ireland has a lot of mean faggots killing themselves or someone is lying.

Great, just great. Russia bans teen culture. Germany bans holocaust denial and, ironically, fascism. France bans not going on strike every week. Britain bans BDSM and goatse, and possibly soon to ban drawings.
Japan bans drawing a penis or vagina without censorship, China bans most of the internet.
Africa is, well, Africa, the middle east bans eating during Ramadan. America lets religious freaks beat the crap out of people to 'exorcise demons', and makes hacking your dvd player to be region free illegal (lol DMCA). Canada bans loli.
etc. etc.

Is there anywhere left in the world where one can be truly free to live as you please, providing you don't force harm on to anyone unwilling? Maybe I should just head off to Antarctica, see if any of the researchers need a mathematician. They have broadband, right?

That list is only reliable when compiled from sources that can be described as accurate. Obviously there is a higher rate of reporting in an industrialised country such as ireland than in say Angola.

It's enough to make you want to start a new country. But then it would be full of people like us, and I think we all know that a chan nation would end up starting WW3. It would make the Dutch look socially repressed, though.

Like stories of this kind usually are, it's most likely a proposal for a law being reported as a done deal. Possibly even a proposal by the opposition, in which case it's got about a snowball's chance in a bonfire of passing.

I mean, we've had reports of the value of pi being legislated as 3 in the US too. Didn't turn out to be true, did it.

>America lets religious freaks beat the crap out of people
>America lets religious freaks

Even more reason why religion should be banned in America. Indeed, it should be banned EVERYWHERE in the world.

>Germany bans holocaust denial and, ironically, fascism

They're banning $cientology, which proves Germans have intelligence & common sense.

>Canada bans loli.
>Russia bans teen culture

You say that as if it's a BAD thing?

Loli ??

This could form it's own debate and hijack the subject so all I'll say is that really, drawings don't require abuse of children to produce, thus harmless and victimless.

Banning emos could be partly the chemo for curing teenage culture.

I don't know about goth though. Since when have they done anyone any harm or irritation?
