Made this with some samples I got out of Sonic Rush and Pokemon Heart Gold [mostly Rush].

Also, here's a pack of all the samples I cared to get from Rush [and the 2 or 3 ones from HG].

Oh, and some from Pearl [with some drums from Sonic Rush].

Didn't get that many samples in this one, didn't feel like wading through all the plain samples in Pearl [of which there are a LOT] to find something nice.

>> No.10507

Excuse my n00bishness, but how did you rip Heart Gold (or any DS) samples?

A little program called VGMTrans.

I'm not in Windows right now, so I can't explain how to use it past the fact that you HAVE to drag a ROM onto it, no file>open, but I managed to figure it out by guessing.

Also, doesn't load a ROM in Wine. It starts, but that's it.

Using any .wav editor import a DS ROM as raw audio. 9 times out of ten after all the digital noise produced from loading the game's code you'l find all the audio tacked on the end :3

This wasn't actually posted by 'Haruhi Suzimiya'. Firefox autocompleted the 'name' field and I didn't notice until it was too late.

TFM Music Maker + VOPMxTFI (http://shiru.untergrund.net/software.shtml) + a collection of VOPM patches stolen directly from Mega Drive classics (http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=277864).
This is my second time making music in a tracker ever, which means this track is a catalog of gratuitous effects.
To be used as the opening of SAoVQ's upcoming VIPTRONIC album.

Can anyone explain to me the origins of demoscene? What its all about? What it has to do with software cracking and underground illegal operations?

>> No.10513

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demoscene is a good place to start your investigation.

If that's too long of a read, the demoscene is pretty much all about making cool shit for e-cred.

>> No.10521

It's mostly for e-cred, as for its links with the 1980s/1990s cracking scenes, demos (usually music with visuals at the time) were opened when you opened up a crack or serial generator or executable. However, the demoscene is itself a massive scene spanning music, video, ASCII, coding and so on that has been around for decades, independent from anything illegal. It's nerd art, in a way.
