I found this chord map, think it could be of any use? Its has so many chords, it makes me think that any musician could make their own 'personal' chord map, what chords 'they' think sound good together. Do these chords really objectively sound good together? Or is the bias of a particular taste or style involved here?

>> No.10551

Well, bias is involved to some extent, but a big part of it has to do with the overtone series. It all has to do with the relationship of the notes in the chord to each other and to the tonic.

I won't go into it too much because I'm no expert, but for example, in the overtone series, a perfect fifth is the first note after the octave, so the chord based on the perfect fifth has the strongest pull back toward the tonic. Adding extra notes like the seventh, ninth and eleventh adds color and some extra pull.

Oh, and some from Pearl [with some drums from Sonic Rush].

Didn't get that many samples in this one, didn't feel like wading through all the plain samples in Pearl [of which there are a LOT] to find something nice.

Excuse my n00bishness, but how did you rip Heart Gold (or any DS) samples?

A little program called VGMTrans.

I'm not in Windows right now, so I can't explain how to use it past the fact that you HAVE to drag a ROM onto it, no file>open, but I managed to figure it out by guessing.

Also, doesn't load a ROM in Wine. It starts, but that's it.

Using any .wav editor import a DS ROM as raw audio. 9 times out of ten after all the digital noise produced from loading the game's code you'l find all the audio tacked on the end :3

This wasn't actually posted by 'Haruhi Suzimiya'. Firefox autocompleted the 'name' field and I didn't notice until it was too late.
