I have to know.
Please tell me this is just fanart.

It a comic for furries, what'd you expect?
Burn it with fire.

Ah yes, I remember the Tails mini-series where he first finds out about being the "Chosen One" who would bring everlasting peace thru the pure control of Chaos Emeralds.

Then we find out that >>55 is his "Chosen One" moment. It's a good thing I stopped reading Sonic a long time ago.

>> No.369

Y'know how SciFi just up and "re-imagined" Battlestar Galactica?
Someone needs to re-imagine Sonic the Hedgehog. I mean "prune it down to the roots," re-imagine. Get rid of all the useless characters and bullshit and just make it between Sonic and an actually worthwhile villain, then give it a decent backdrop so it actually has context.

Oh...you mean like the Ultimate Marvel series? Yeah, I'd be for that. Anything that will make Snively look cooler in comparison as they wrote him in the past.

It wasn't a mini-series, it was a side-story.

Also, this was just some bullshit by a bad editor. The real "chosen one" shit was when he faced Mammoth Mogul the first time.

This "Titan Tails" stuff was just retarded.

Hmm.
So where you're from, when a comic book company publishes a set of three seperate comics from a running series, and they, distinctly label them as a mini-series, it's not a mini-series, it's a side-story.

Also, the prophecy indicated that Tails would surpass both Sonic and Knuckles in power, yet it was the Master Emerald itself that stepped in and absorbed Mogul in.

369, here. Maybe BSG was a bad comparison. When I say re-imagine, I mean get rid of anything that is not a blue hedgehog that runs fast and wears red shoes.
In fact, maybe get rid of the red shoes, too. They were only meant to make him match the American flag.
That means no Snively Whiplash. No Eggman. No Tails, no Knuckles. No poor writing, no lousy art, and definitely no overuse of deus ex machina as a regular plot device.

fixed

Oh my.

Also, if Mr. 369's idea ever happens, I'd probably shoot one off in my pants. Especially if they just recycled Eggman to be a worthwhile villain.

Are you fuckin KIDDING me???

I read this comic for like three months back in... I'd say 1997. I go to the comic store to get the new Scud comics, and I see they're still making new issues of this shit. And THIS is what they've got going on in the comics now? God damn, I'm glad I'm stoned.

>> No.687

>>369 and >>386, fucking hallelujah. That doesn't sound so bad. Sonic could actually be badass for real, for the first time. He's always been too cartoony. Fucking kiddie cartoons, nobody actually likes it! It's just like a big joke!

>> No.697

369 again. Gads, these boards have some serious shelf-life!

I've been tinkering with a redux for some time now, having recognized the faggotry the franchise has become when I played SA2. I'll post it here because pretty every other board has either other interests or is OMG SONIC IZ TEH FURFAGGOTroflrofl.

The hero is not some vagabond stoner hippie engaged in a loving buddy relationship (with a Chernobyl-fox) endorsed by NAMBLA. The hero is, firstly, a girl because I myself am a guy and I liek girls. Her name is, for the time, СОНЯ ЁЖ (That's "Sonya Yezh" if the text didn't translate) because 'Sonya' is a pretty name and 'Yezh' because it is Russian for 'hedgehog,' and actually sounds like a legitimate family name. She's a track runner at the high school/university she attends, is rail-thin, doesn't relate with her age group, and has difficulty seeing color. She wears, most predominantly, a trench coat (or pocketlicious field coat, I haven't decided) that she took from an enemy commissar when she beat him to death with his own steel pot in the first plot arch I have in mind. She has some kind of social-relations disorder because her parents were fucking cocaine addicts that never properly raised her, leading to the rail-thin physique from undernourishment, the color-seeing difficulty from living in a colorless shat hole, and the social-relations problems from being mistreated and nearly sold to fund more drugs.

Sounds pretty awesome, only I wish it weren't a wimminz.

Sorry if there was a disconnect. When I was thinking of the character up, I intentionally left the guy/girl question open, but when the character was by and large complete, I decided that having it be a girl would have more of an impact and less cliché. It's just my idea, so if you don't like it, say so; I'm open to criticism.

For the first story arc, she hears at her inner city school Shathole High that Arc Royal (her country) was invaded in the north by a neighboring country called Cos. You would think that Arc Royal and Cos are at war because Cos is an evil communazi dictatorship, but the truth is quite different and much less cliché: Arc Royal is a free country and so is Cos, but arc Royal is founded upon Ayn Rand-style selfish capitalism (with a slightly socialistic capital, Arc Royal City) and Cos is founded upon Altruistic serve-your-country selfless almost-capitalism (with a totally free capital where the rich frolic). Not only is that not cliché, it is also a little bit fucked up, which is why I like it.

The war, Sonya hears, is being fought in and around the Graveyard, Arc Royal City's smaller sister-city in the inland north whose skyscrapers have come to resemble a giant-sized graveyard thanks to the war. So, having nothing at all to lose in way of her lousy two parents, school, and life, she takes some of her parents' welfare money, buys a rifle and some ammunition, and hoofs it up to the 'Yard to fight in the First Arc War. Setting up as just a rifle looking for Cos to kill, she uses her near-colorblindness to her advantage with being able to see in the dark and detect motion more capably that others; this earns her a positive reputation with the Royals and a bounty with the Cos.

And now to explain the coat: Some kind of Cos officer -a real shitbag- finds her while she's covering a Royal unit and the two of them have a go at wrestling. For whatever reason (RAPE) a bunch of her clothes come off and she beats him to death with his own helmet. She picks up the coat and looks it over. “Is this General's rank?” She takes the General's pins off the collar and puts on private pins, flaunting to the enemy that a Royal private is apparently better than a Cos General. She's branded an enemy of the state by the Cos.

If it's going to be a guy, then he just pummels the General upon meeting him- there would be no attempted rape for obvious reasons.

Okay, I changed my mind, that sounds awesome.

If I choose to put in some Robotnik/Eggaman analogue, it will look like this: Ivy Eggman is a defense contractor for the Cos government and is chiefly responsible for the initial success the Cos military enjoyed in the First Arc War. As I plan it, Sonya is captured by the Cos military and Ivy is given custody of her prisoner status. Given Sonya's familial past, this is a progression from bad to worse. Ivy uses Sonya as a guinea pig for experiments, the very least of which is cutting Sonya open and grafting techno-organic valveless pulse jets to her lungs. That's important because I want the source of Sonya's speed to be this painful un-anesthetized vivisection from this doctor who likes to calmly toy with the experiments. What I like about this is that the potential for two female enemies is much different, and much less explored, than the two male enemies we're used to. Ivy is this sadistic mad-doctor who plays with her experiments while inflicting pain on them, leading to her acting cool and almost seductive around Sonya, while Sonya tries to rip out Ivy's liver.

Including Ivy might also prompt me to include some kind of powerful gemstone, an ovoid opal-colored device that exists in multiple dimensions simultaneously, and as such gives off the local radiation from these dimensions, making it a source of great power.

I'm not sure about the name of "Shathole High", but do proceed.

>> No.755

>>743
It's a clean rendition of "Shithole High" that has a nice ring to it- it's the 'aht' part that I like- and "Shathole" sounds like it could be a real district in a foreign tongue.

I can't really proceed with anything else, though. Other than a hypothetical second arc where Colonel sends her to the hybrid high-school/university, which would be more of a coming-of age thing, I haven't thought of any other arcs that haven't been done before in some capacity.
