I am working on a comic about a neglected video game console. It is still a rough draft. I know my work can't even be called "art" at this point but I want to see if it pulls any heart strings and get some advice on what I should improve or what I should study.

Two things:Learn anatomy. This takes a lot of time and studying. Buy a book or two on the subject. Personally I got a lot out of Burne Hogarth's books. If you're going to use anime style as reference, use someone who knows how to give figures depth, like Hanaharu Naruko, Saiki Keita and Juuzoh Minazuka (aka Niko Mark). You should also learn perspective. This is easy, as you can simply buy a book, learn the rules for creating one and two point perspective and in no time you'll be able to draw pretty much any human made background (meaning, cityscapes and anything with angles. Nature takes longer).

If you wan't to draw anime, start off by not drawing anime. Anime is easy to draw, but hard to learn anatomy with since its distorted. Learn to draw realistically first - THEN distort it. It will look so much better when you do it that way.
Basically in my opinion, yeah the anatomy is a bit off, but I'm one to talk >.>Anyways, personally, just keep at it, practice makes perfect.
