My Goddess by The Exies makes me think of Urd, but I don't like the words too much. However... the one the song is addressed to is still reffderd to as "My Goddess" and that means something :)

You're still insulting even excusing the Bell-fag thing, assuming that someone isn't getting what you are saying for example, when its more that your arguments just aren't convincing at all.

So what if you agreed that Bell is powerful, you're still arguing about how bad what Bell did is with regards to the series, when in fact its not bad at all, proving you are still in disagreement, you just don't want to admit it.

So she's boxing, if she's powerful in magic, why shouldn't she be able to box if she wants to, and you still haven;t made any rational counterargument to that, you keep saying people aren;t getting it, but the fact is your argument just isn;t convincing, she's a magic user of great skill, so boxing is not out of her range of abilities, as she can increase her speed and strength magically.

Uh actually we have seen Bell do pretty much everything she did in this arc before, excpet the boxing, and that is not out of her abilities range, again your arguments just aren't very convincing, not that people don't get them.

I've varied between hatred and indifference towards her since the series beginning, personally, with the odd moment of fondness for her.
I think the times that I tend to like her are when she comes across as fairly clueless or naive.

I have to say, I'm not a Bell fan, but I think this is (mostly) true. I like Bell, not as much as I like other characters, but I still like her.

On the other hand, this arc has mostly been hints of things very, very interesting, followed by the same boring disappointment (to me personally). I don't hate Bell by any means, but I don't really like how she's doing in this arc (or the rest of the arc for the matter).

By how they explained other Valkyries in the manga when Lind first showed up, yes, it implies that if Belldandy is one, she's also physically strong as well.

And even then, assuming magic is supporting Belldandy's strength, that alone doesn't explain how she's suddenly an amazing hand to hand fighter and a Valkyrie beyond the fact that it was JUST written in. Although Lind is a bit of an outlier (They use the phrase "Even among Valkyrie..." when describing her to Skuld), how she is is fairly standard among Valkyrie in terms of strength and behavior. Heck, she has to learn how to smile again when visiting them. Also, Belldandy herself is a bit taken aback when she realizes the Gate is sending down a Goddess from the combat division. If she had always been a Valkyrie, wouldn't that just have been business as usual? And Keiichi wasn't there when Lind showed up at first, so that threat wasn't a factor, Belldandy was just nervous about it.

And we know how emotionally impressionable Belldandy can be by looking at how she reacted to the incident with Celestine. So you're telling me that Belldandy has recently gone through a brutal training program that can make divine, immortal beings forget how to smile when there has been no change to her personality at all?

Actually, as we saw at the beginning of the arc, most valks couldn't even keep up with Peorth. Most Valks probably didn't train at all like Rind did. Just because Rind thought she needed more strength for the second angel, doesn't mean that all Valks trained like she did, in fact even other valks were wondering why she was training so hard.

Oh I'm certain Belldandy got the liscense rather recently, probably after Chrono.

Also Chrono is an assistant to the Valk's and she is as clumsy and ditsy as they come. So its clear that only Rind has issues with the training.

You make it sound like all Valks go through Rind's version of training, that girl messed herself up bad, trying to get her second angel out, most Valks aren't anywhere near that, as we saw at the beginning of the arc, only Rind.

I dunno, when they're explaining Lind and the Fighting Wings/Combat Division/Whatever The Translation Team Calls It to Skuld, a panel shows several Valkyries fighting amongst themselves as they say how rough the training is. I think Lind is a bit of an outlier granted, but I don't think by that much.

However I just want to say, I like Belldandy a lot, she sometimes passes Skuld for my favorite character, but I still don't like the idea that they had to write in some new angle to make Belldandy overpowered. She didn't need it one bit and unless they give a MUCH better, detailed explanation in the upcoming chapters, I don't think I'll ever accept it... unless Skuld and Urd are given similar chances to be overpowered and then they team up.

Well, one thing if this series becomes like DBZ or Naruto in the near future, you can't compare characters like that. Their specializations will start showing up. Spending a lot of years among avid DBZ fans I can assure you, NEVER just say that since X can beat Y and Y can beat Z, X can beat Z.

I did on my laptop. I have had it for two years already, but still couldn't figure out at what angle to look at the screen. It looked fine and then... Oh, Goddess, it's that bright ?_? In a week or so I'll get back home and will be able to work with a much better monitor.

BTW, I have that pic (your post) in a different colour scheme. I added some sky and flares to it and used to have it set a wallpeper on my mobile, but can't find it now. Must have it on another computer. Sorry.

Yeah, just my humble suggestions. On some screens, orange can look browner than it actually is, etc. You've got the actually colouring part down, as far as I can tell. I also personally prefer Urd's hair being slightly darker than pure white (a very small hint of grey), but again, personal preference (it goes into how she was drawn around Vol. 12 or so, I think).

While I agree that Belldandy has been seriously Mary-Sue'ing this arc something fierce, threads on this board get derailed all the time. I've made Skuld threads that get Urd fans in there talking about how great she is and heck, this thread originated as a Lind versus Thrym thread.

But all of the Goddesses are pretty much "perfect" archetypes. Skuld is the perfect tsundere, Belldandy is the perfect yamato nadeshiko and Urd is the perfect uh... Japanese slang term for smokin' hot lady.

Exactly. And that means that Sentaro needed more luck to meet Skuld, because he first had to have the luck of Keiichi meeting Belldandy. If you are to measure probability of two people meeting to goddesses, you must start from the same point and not after some vitale conditions were met for one of the couples to meet. So, it may be that Sentaro had bigger probability to bump into Skuld once she was there then for Keiichi to make the miracle call. BUT these are two different spaces and times. If you think of it at the beginning of the story you can see that Keiichi had more chances to make the call, then Sentaro to meet Skuld at that (exact) moment. If A is impossible without B, then first you have to do B. You can't make a sandwich without having anything for it. So first you go to a shop and only then you make a sandwich. After you have the stuff you want it's easy to make your sandwich, but at the beginning it was so much less probable then that you'll go to do shopping.

Give their relationship enough time and coverage and I think it'll become as deep as Belldandy and Keiichi's. They've already been through a few conflicts and challenges together and they never had any form of contract or Almighty Force holding them together at the somewhat rocky beginnings.

Also, they're forging the relationship as Skuld is trying to figure out how to be both a woman and a goddess at the same time. Belldandy already had all of that figured out by the time she and Keiichi met.

Skuld isn't Belldandy, even Sentaro said it (and then immediately regretted saying it aloud since Skuld got angry), so Its pretty much impossible fot Sentaro and Skuld to have a realtionship with the same depth as Bell and K1, because of the differences in personalities.

Also their challenges have never been on the same level as what Bell and K1's have been, not to mention, they may not have the System force, but they have Belldandy, Keiichi and Urd to help hold them together.
